MtG Öresund ELM Qualifier

It’s time for Malmö to send one lucky and skilled player to represent Sweden at the European Legacy Masters 2024 in the beautiful city of Bologna, Italy.

At the European Legacy Masters (ELM), the best Legacy players from across 23 different countries face off against each other, with sweet prizes and eternal glory on the line. The European Legacy Masters is an invitation-only event. The third edition of the ELM is for now planned to take place in Bologna, Italy alongside the 4Seasons Summer Tournament for 2024, and will have up to 128 players competing for the title.

Venue

We are going to hold the tournament on a cruise boat with air condition and fully equipped restaurant kitchen. This means there will be access to both food and drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) for purchase. Due to Swedish regulations sales of alcoholic beverages are not allowed under the age of 18 and before 11am.

If you have any dietary requirements and are planning to order food, please let us know in advance so we can prepare the kitchen.

There will be a food break after round two of the tournament, more details will be communicated before the start of round one.

Tournament Structure

  • Rules Enforcement Level: Competitive REL.
  • Round Time: 50 minutes
  • Swiss + Top 8. Number of swiss rounds depends on number of participants.
  • x-32: 5 Rounds + Top 8
  • 32-64: 6 Rounds + Top 8

Decklists: All players are required to submit a Legacy Legal deck on mtgmelee by 05/11/2024 10:00 AM

Rules Enforcement Level: Competitive REL as there are real prizes involved.

Proxy guidelines

At this qualifier, you are allowed to use as many playtest cards (“proxies”) as you need. To ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone, we ask that you adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Proxies must be in full colour and clearly recognizable to your opponent and outside spectators.

  • When using images other than the official card face, the same rules that exist for altered cards apply. Make sure it is clear which card you are representing, and stay clear of explicit or offensive imagery.

  • The cards must be created and sleeved in such a manner, that they are indistinguishable from other cards in the deck. Notably, the thickness and feel of the cards must match.

  • The head judge has the final word when it comes to determining whether your proxies could be considered marked, or not sufficiently recognizable.

  • Registration: 09:00 - 10:00
  • Tournament Start: 10:00

The organizer has agreed to pay out prizes in 60 days or less.

Final prize structure depends on the number of attendees.

Prizes will be payed out as follows:

  • 1: ELM spot + 35% of the prizepool in cash to be used as travel allowance.
  • 2: 15% Storecredits
  • 3: 10% Storecredits
  • 4: 10% Storecredits
  • 5: 7.5% Storecredits
  • 6: 7.5% Storecredits
  • 7: 7.5% Storecredits
  • 8: 7.5% Storecredits

Vendor has yet to confirm. If there is no vendor the prizes will be payed in cash.
