Welcome to JafferMTG’s First Open tournament!

This will be the first of many more monthly tournaments! Come compete with your new Kaldheim brews in this unknown Standard meta! To help introduce the new Standard, here is your first Kaldheim tournament!

  • This is meant to be a fun event to introduce the new set! Have fun!
  • Communication with moderators and other players (outside of matches) will be done through the Discord server.
  • Format: Standard Best of 3
  • The tournament starts at 1 PM CST
  • Registration ends 30 minutes before the start of the event
  • There will be prizes for the top 4 players!

Coverage

  • Participants of this event are encouraged to join the Discord server in case if their match is asked to be streamed.
  • Streaming your run on the event? Let us know!
  • There will be coverage of this event on JafferMTG’s channel.

Enjoy yourself!

  • Format: Standard Best of 3
  • Decklists must be submitted by 12:50 PM CST
  • If no decklist is submitted, you will be dropped from the event
  • Tournament starts 1:00 PM CST
  • Rounds and cut to top players (four or eight) will depend on tournament attendance.
  • No intentional draws in this event.
  • Prizes are available to participants 18 years or older

-Time in rounds

  • The time in each round is 50 minutes.
  • You have up to 5 minutes to connect with your opponent and start your match.

Technical Issues

  • You as the player are fully and solely responsible for the presence and stability of an internet connection as well as for the stability of your system running MTG Arena.
  • Any types of connection issue, bugs, anything related to your game crashing/not functioning properly is the sole responsibility of the player and will not result in restarting the match.
  • Players should be aware of known issues in MTG Arena.

Streaming for Coverage

  • If you are asked to stream your game on the Discord server, please stream the MTGA window, not your monitor.
  • If you don't stream and would like to participate in broadcasting your matches, this can be done by letting tournament staff know ahead of time. We encourage this so we can provide coverage of the event on Twitch!
  • If you are in the top players, please know you may be required to stream your match via DIscord.

Prize support will be provided to the top four players!

  • 1st $20 USD
  • 2nd $15 USD
  • 3rd - 4th $5 USD

If winners are a Twitch Subscriber BEFORE the event starts, prizes are as followed for corresponding places:

  • 1st $30 USD
  • 2nd $25 USD
  • 3rd - 4th $15 USD

Prizes will be issued via PayPal within five business days. Prizes are available to participants 18 years or older.
