TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE

When challenging, players should use the "Historic Tournament Match" challenge mode.

The tournament will be composed of up to 7 Swiss-system rounds, which means that all players will be playing all 7 rounds against opponents with equal records, with the top 8 being decided by a point-based system.

After, the top 8 will compete in a bracket to determine a ranking. Depending on the amount of players and prize pool, winnings may be distributed to the top 4 or top 8.

Each round will be restricted to a 50 minute timer - if a pairing surpasses the 50 minute mark, participants are to immediately submit their current score (be it 1-0 or 1-1). This helps us keep the tournament going in a timely manner.

DECKLISTS

The tournament is open decklist. This means that you must submit your decklist before the tournament begins, otherwise you will be dropped from the tournaent. This also means that both you and your opponent will know each other's decklists ahead of time. You can submit your decklist through the player controller.

Rules

1. Be active through Discord and/or MTGMelee and/or MTG Arena so that you may be reached if needed by opponents or tournament staff.
2. The voice channel labeled 'Feature Match 1' will be the primary voice lobby for the tournament; NO streaming of matches will be allowed there. The tournament chat will be where all discussion of the tournament is happening.
3. For all other feature match voice channels, to mitigate the chance of stream-sniping, only one tournament participant will be allowed to be in each feature match voice channel at a time. The ONLY exception for this is if you were part of a different match and have already submitted your results for that round.
4. After you complete one (best of three) round, one or both of you should submit your results to the tournament-results Discord chat and to MTGMelee.
5. No unsportsmanlike behavior - do your best and focus on having fun!
6. Be available to respond to tournament staff if needed.

The organizer has agreed to pay out prizes in 7 days or less.

Minimum $100 to be distributed among top 4 - more details to come!

Payouts will likely occur via Venmo and/or Paypal, so all participants interested in being included in the prize pool should have one of these accounts. To verify your identity, we may request additional information such as an active email account to confirm your identity. Must be 18 years or older to participate in the prize pool.

If the tournament is underway, you may still request assistance from an organizer. We should be hanging out in the Discord while the tournament is running.
