SCG Tour Online - Satellite #5

Satellites are open events on select Fridays and Saturdays in which players can earn an invitation to that Sunday’s $5K Kaldheim Championship Qualifier, up to two (2) byes in that event, and invitations to the following month’s Kaldheim Qualifier Weekend.

How it Works
Play in SCG Tour Online Satellite events on Magic Arena to earn an invitation, and up to a two-round bye, for the next $5k Kaldheim Championship Qualifier!
All players that earn at least 12 Match Points in a Satellite event will receive an invitation to participate in $5k the Kaldheim Championship Qualifier on Sunday, December 20th with an opportunity to win a share of $5,000 in cash, tens of thousands of Magic Arena Gems, and an invitation to Wizards of the Coast’s Kaldheim Championship!
All players with 15 or more match points in a Satellite tournament will also earn an invitation to Wizards of the Coast’s Kaldheim Qualifier Weekend on January 16-17,2021.
SCG Tour Online Satellite Event Information:
- Six (6) rounds of Swiss
- Players are required to check-in prior to the start of the event.
Registration:
- Registration for all SCG Tour Online events will close 20 minutes prior to each event.
- No late registrations will be allowed.
Decklists
- Players must submit their decklist prior to the start of the first round.
- Failure to submit a decklist on time will result in Tardiness penalties.
- SCG Tour Online events have open decklists.
- Each round, both your decklist and your opponent's will be available for reference in the MTGMelee Player Controller.
Pairings
- Pairings will be announced through MTGMelee and in the tournament channel of the SCG Tour Online Discord.
- SMS pairings notification is available through MTG Melee. To set up, go to Settings>> Account enter your phone number and check the "Send SMS Pairings" box.
- Each round, your MTGMelee Player Controller will update to display your current pairing.
- Players are required to "Check-in" to every round. Simply click the green button to check-in to your match.
- Players are solely responsible for receiving their pairings and conducting their matches in a timely manner.
Matches
Each round will be 50 minutes including 5 minutes to check-in and begin your match. 15 minutes after round is paired, if a player has not communicated with their opponent or a tournament admin that player will lose the current round and be dropped from the event.
Once you have received your pairing, use the Direct Challenge feature in MTG Arena (Crossed Swords in the top right) to challenge your opponent. Set up your match by selecting "Historic Tournament Match", entering your opponent’s Direct Challenge ID (include the hashtag and five-digit number), and selecting the deck you've registered. Remember that MTG Arena user names are case sensitive.
At the conclusion of your match, it is recommended that you take a screen shot of your match result screen. If there are any discrepancies in the match results, an admin may ask you for this as proof of your result. Match results should be entered in your Player Controller. (Note: there are no draws in SCG Tour Online events)

Eligibilty:
- SCG Tour Online Kaldheim Championship Qualifier tournaments and their Satellite Qualifiers are open to all qualified players eighteen years of age and older.
- Players must have accounts in good standing on MTG Arena, MTG Melee and Star City Games.
- Players must not be currently suspended from participating in/on tabletop Magic: The Gathering events, SCG Tour Online events and/or tabletop SCG Tour event
- Regional eligibility restrictions also apply, void where prohibited.
Miscellaneous
- Players are fully and solely responsible for the presence and stability of an internet connection as well as for the stability of the system running MTG Arena.
- Any types of connection issue, bugs, anything related to your game crashing/not functioning properly is the sole responsibility of the player and will not result in restarting the match.
- Players should be aware of known issues in MTG Arena.
- Players are encouraged to join the SCG Tour Online Discord.

Problem with your match? Use the "Contact Tournament Staff" feature in the MTGMelee Player Controller and select your issue. Our staff will be in contact with you as quickly as possible.
In the event that there is a dispute between players, a tournament admin may ask for a screenshot or for you to share your screen on the SCG Tour Online Discord to better understand the situation or as a way to confirm that something is occurring. We highly-recommend that players take a screenshot of each "Victory" screen showing both players’ names. In the event of a results discrepancy, you may be asked to provide this as proof.
