I’m happy to announce the next Buffalo Chicken Dip Legacy (BCDL) 11 taking place Saturday, March 4th, 2023, at The Warp Gate located at 5890 Westerville Rd, Westerville, OH 43081 with check-in starting at 11 am and first round pairings at noon. Thank you to Stephen, Kaylyn, and their staff for hosting us. As always, we’ll have tasty buffalo chicken dip for all competitors while supplies last. Cost: $50 plus any fees charged for MTG Melee. SIGNUP AND PAYMENT WILL ONLY BE THROUGH MTG MELEE. DO NOT SEND MONEY TO THE BCDL PAYPAL. If you do, I’ll refund you less any expenses PayPal may charge me. PLEASE SIGN UP ON MELEE.
Signup and Tournament Administration: Signup for the event will ONLY BE THROUGH MTG MELEE. DO NOT PAYPAL ME ENTRY. After you signup on MTG Melee you’ll need to send me your vaccination information if you have not done so for a previous BCDL event. See Covid-19 rules for full details.
Decklists, pairings, match results, and tournament administration will be done on MTG Melee. If you don’t already have an MTG Melee account, please sign up as you must have one for the event.
Cap: The event will be capped at 64 players. This event will likely sell out – do not wait to sign up. I will also have a waitlist as usual once we hit cap. If the event fills in MTG Melee reach out to me on Twitter or Facebook as the waitlist will be administered offline.
Covid-19 Rules: Proof of full vaccination or negative Covid-19 test within 72 hours of the event are required to participate. To provide proof of vaccination simply take a picture of your vaccination card and email it to buffalochickendiplegacy@gmail.com or DM me on Twitter @bcdlegacy within 48 hours of signing up. If providing a negative Covid-19 test, please provide me with the results by email or DM within 72 hours of the event. If you participated in a prior BCDL I have already noted your vaccination status and you won’t be required to provide it again. Medical waiver will only be accepted with physician’s recommendation. We will follow the local ordinances regarding masks. Currently, the City of Westerville does not require masks to be worn indoors. We will follow whatever guidance is in place by the City of Westerville and CDC at the time of the event. However, proof of vaccination or negative Covid-19 test will still be required for all participants regardless of local ordinance or guidelines regarding masks.
Format: Legacy – full playtest allowed – playtest cards must be printed out with full card text and name – no sharpie marker on cards or handmade playtest cards. We will be as if we are playing at Comp REL level, but this event IS NOT sanctioned as we’re allowing playtest cards. I expect 6 rounds of Swiss with a cut to Top 8. Decklists will be required and submitted electronically on MTG Melee. We will have a judge for this event.
Check In time: 11 am check-in and 1st round pairings at noon.
The organizer has agreed to pay out prizes immediately after the tournament has ended.
Prizes: Prizes will scale with attendance and will be as provided below. Prizes will lock one week prior to the event so I have time to acquire prize cards, but I will increase them on short notice if possible. Please sign-up ASAP so I have time to get prize cards.
Guaranteed Minimum Prizes: 1st place will receive an MP Underground Sea, their name on the golden chicken trophy, and their own mini trophy to keep. 2nd place will receive an LP City of Traitors. 3rd and 4th place will each receive an LP Alliances Force of Will. 5th through 8th place will each receive a Tempest or UMA Ancient Tomb.
Prizes at 48 Paid Players: 1st place will receive a Revised MP Underground Sea, their name on the golden chicken trophy, and their own mini trophy to keep. 2nd place will receive a Revised MP Tundra. 3rd and 4th place will each receive an LP City of Traitors. 5th through 8th place will each receive an Alliances Force of Will.
